51 - 80 Goldfields

Experience Narmbool — a magnificent and historic pastoral property of 2,000 hectares located at Elaine, just 30 minutes from Ballarat and 90 minutes from Melbourne.

Owned and operated by Sovereign Hill, Narmbool is a fascinating example of sustainable farming in a diverse and fragile ecosystem.

The Narmbool Lodge provides modern, environmentally friendly motel accommodation suited to school groups. Set in luxuriant gardens adjacent to the bluestone homestead is The Garden Room — an elegant restaurant available for weddings and pre-booked functions.

Rolling green hills, craggy volcanic escarpments, commanding views of nearby Mount Buninyong and clean, crisp air further enchance the visitor experience of Narmbool. Narmbool was donated to Sovereign HiIl in 2000 for the express purpose of developing the property as an educational resource

Narmbool is a 2,000-hectare property, carrying approximately 11,000 adult sheep - Merino (for breeding) and Crossbred (for prime lambs). The property is also home to tracts of native bush land, creeks and waterways that are home to koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, platypuses, wedge-tailed eagles, growling grass frogs and dozens more species.
