Edmund Rice Camps for Kids WA Inc (ERCKWA) is a non-profit community based organisation that serves the needs of WA 'at risk' or disadvantaged children aged 716 and their families (families who would not otherwise have such opportunities). We achieve this via a variety of developmentally-focussed recreational and educational respite programs, including camps. ERCKWA also fosters the ongoing personal development of young adult volunteer leaders who act as friends and mentors to the children in our care.
Edmund Rice Camps for Kids WA runs a variety of programs for children aged 716 years throughout the calendar year. The children are broken up into five age groups so that they can attend with peers of an appropriate age.
We currently run Mega camps for each age group in January and July, Mini camps on weekends throughout the year, and several day programs and family based programs!
All of our camps have a one-to-one ratio of volunteer leaders to participants. This enables us to provide a fun and safe environment for every child; an unique experience that builds self-esteem and confidence, and promotes appropriate socialisation with others.
We take child safety very seriously: our approach won the 2014 Constable Care Child Safety Award in the WA Child Safety Education and Care category.
