Experience Education in Victoria, Australia

Experience eight days of adventure, travel to stunning locations across Victoria and learn in an outdoor education setting.

Overview

The Australian Camps Association (ACA) is working with the Victorian Government to offer a study tour program to secondary students from Malaysia, Vietnam and China. The program will include:

  • time spent in comfortable residential camps focusing on personal development qualities (such as building resilience, teamwork, leadership and communication skills),
  • visits to the best of Victoria’s natural scenery to enjoy the wonderful flora and fauna the state has to offer,
  • an introduction to Melbourne and Victoria's world class Universities.

This is a fully escorted program which is aimed at those students looking to study abroad in the future.

Who is the Australian Camps Association?

Austrade logo double.pngThe Australian Camps Association (ACA) is a national organisation that represents 130 camps in Victoria alone. Our fully accredited member camps provide unforgettable experiences with outdoor activities for groups of children and adults.

The Australian Camps Association has been awarded Approved Body status by Austrade. 

What does an ACA member camp look like?

ATAP logo.pngAn ACA member camp caters for between 30 and 300 people in shared dormitory-style accommodation, with most camps located in beautiful regional areas, as well as a number in cities and towns. Residential camps are best described as places that offer group accommodation, usually with full catering and activities onsite and nearby.

The ACA supports member camps to deliver excellent programs for groups from all walks of life, catering for people of various needs and interests.

All member camps visited during the study tour are accredited with the Quality Tourism Framework.

The Study Tour Program

The Study Tour programs are flexible and can be tailored to suit the particular interests and desired outcomes of each group. A study tour would typically include some or all of the following activities:

  • Experience-based learning and outdoor adventure activities aimed at building important life-skills such as independence, team work, self-esteem and communication
  • Visiting iconic locations in Victoria such as the Great Ocean Road, the Grampians and the Mornington Peninsula.
  • Introduction and visits to local universities in Victoria (both inner city and regional).
  • Cultural engagement and learning sessions with Indigenous Australians.
  • Learning about Australian natural history and animals (such as koalas, kangaroos and platypus) at Healesville Sanctuary and Melbourne Zoo.
  • Visiting historical venues such as the acclaimed Sovereign Hill in the gold rush village at Ballarat.

The Costs

$2,600 + GST (AUD, 2020)

  • Dormitory-style accommodation and all activities (including any specialised equipment)
  • Bus transport within Australia
  • All meals

Duty of Care

While the Australian Camps Association and our associated providers take the utmost care in the preparation and delivery of this tour, the duty of care for the students attending remains with the group's accompanying teachers/adults.
