One Planet - Factory life, new equipment, and the best takeaway.
One Planet is a Partner of the Australian Camps Association
2021 has been a challenging year for the outdoor sector. Lockdowns have closed camps, sites and factories, and there have been many other challenges - staffing, remote work and increased OHS procedures.
We’re thankful for the ceaseless work by the team at Australian Camps Association. Their commitment to community and their regular contact and support has gone a long way to keeping us all connected.
The multiple closure(s) of our Melbourne manufacturing has kept us agile, with our longest shutdown being more than 100 days. However, there have been upsides: during 2020-2021 we have been fortunate to have the time and opportunity to reinvigorate our commitment to local manufacturing Behind the scenes, we’ve made significant investments in technologies for our Melbourne facility, acquiring a modern automatic cutter for textiles and webbing, the latest seam- sealing technology and elegant down-filling machinery. New equipment for us: to make the best equipment for you.
These advances improve our ability to manufacture an ever-widening range of product here in Australia. As of 2021 we have brought all our industrial fly/tarp manufacturing back locally and rolled out updates across our range. Amongst these improvements is some big news for Outdoor Ed. An update in functionality and reduction in weight of our classic High Plains, HR and HR Grommet packs.
The best takeaway? We’re here to help, we’re local, and our gear continues to be world class… And the Bánh mì place around the corner for post lockdown lunches!
Our latest Outdoor Ed catalogue is also ready - give us a call or drop us an email if you want a copy. We’d love to chat with your directly And next time you’re in Melbourne, come say hi!
