Camp Smarter, Save Smarter: How Silverband Lodge Reduced Energy Costs by over $3,900 per year

Like many members of the Australian Camps Association (ACA), Silverband Lodge is passionate about creating meaningful outdoor experiences that connect the community with nature and create life-long memories.

With both catered and self-catered group accommodation and peaceful bushland surrounds, the lodge continues to deliver memorable experiences while carefully managing its operational costs to keep group stays affordable.

The Problem

As electricity prices increase, energy is now becoming a top three operational expense. With other day to day tasks taking priority over understanding complex bills, camps are more likely to pay more than what they need to.
Silverband Lodge wanted to make sure they were on the right energy plan and getting fair value for their usage and contacted Choice Energy, energy partner of ACA, for their free assessment. 

How Choice Energy Helped

By sending through a copy of their most recent bill, Silverband Lodge received a full review of their energy account. 

Choice Energy approached several energy retailers - and accessed specialised rates that are not available to the general public or via energy comparison websites.

The team then identified opportunities to secure more suitable rates through a better-matched energy agreement, ensuring the lodge paid prices that truly reflected its size and seasonal operations and handled all administration including switching energy retailers. 

Ongoing, the team will continue to check every 3-6 months to ensure the lodge is always on the best rates going forward.
