As of 27 March 2020, national parks and camping is still open in South Australia. This is confirmed on the National Parks and Wildlife site here.

On 26 March 2020, the Western Australian government announced that it would implement new restrictions for access to designated regions in the State to protect the health and wellbeing of residents in the Kimberley and remote Aboriginal communities. On 26 March 2020, the Tasmanian government announced that Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service will close all national parks and reserves to public recreational use from midnight on Thursday 26 March. Read the government’s media release here.

On 25 March 2020, the NT government confirmed that Territory campgrounds, multi-day walks and high-use day areas that encourage groups to gather, will be closed from 5pm Thursday 26 March 2020. Read the government's media release here.

On 24 March 2020. The Prime Minister clarified existing measures and introduced new measures to reduce the spread of the virus. The new measures apply from 11:59pm on 25 March 2020. On 22 March 2020, the South Australian government announced that it will close its borders from Tuesday 24 March 2020 at 4pm.

On 22 March 2020, the Western Australian government announced that it will close its border to interstate visitors from 1.30pm on Tuesday, March 24. Read the Premier’s media statement about the border controls here.

On 21 March 2020, the Northern Territory government announced that from 4.00pm on Tuesday 24 March, the Northern Territory will implement strict border controls for all access points. Read the Chief Minister of the Northern Territory’s press release here.
- On 19 March 2020, the Tasmanian government announced that from Friday 20 March, all non-essential travellers departing for Tasmania will be required to quarantine for 14 days. Read the Tasmanian Premier’s media release about this here.
- Virgin Australia Grounds International Fleet (18 March 2020) -
Virgin Australia is grounding its international fleet in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The airline made the announcement in a statement to the ASX.
All international services will be suspended from March 30 to June 14.
The airline is also slashing domestic capacity by 50 per cent until June 14.

Domestic Transport - Excerpt from Prime Minister's Media Statement (18 March 2020) -
"Domestic Transport
National Cabinet agreed that all Australians should only consider travelling when it is essential. If unwell, people must stay at home, unless seeking medical care.
National Cabinet agreed that public transport is essential and that AHPPC advice should apply in relation to public transport (trains, trams, buses, ferries), taxi and ride share vehicles and transport of vulnerable populations, with particular attention given to cleaning and hygiene.
National Cabinet agreed that domestic air travel is low risk. The issue of where people are travelling to and sensitive locations where travel should be restricted, will be developed with advice of states and territories.
The National Cabinet will further consider social distancing arrangements for domestic transport at its next meeting on Friday 20 March 2020.
In all cases, appropriate social distancing and hygiene practices should be applied..."

At this stage, there are no restrictions on domestic travel. This was confirmed in the Prime Minister’s announcement (15 March 2020).
